Clearing up the report earlier this week, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red confirmed to GameSpot that the game will run at 1080p/30fps on PlayStation 4, while the Xbox One version will be at 900p/30fps.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Enternity, Art Producer Michal Stec was asked about The Witcher 3 possibly undergoing a visual downgrade over the last few months. He addressed these complaints head on:
No. That’s the answer. We are not downgrading it.
We are optimizing the game, but in a way that doesn’t affect the visuals. So there is a lot of work for us, and this is also one of the reasons – I’m not going to hide it – why we delayed the game. Because we still have to optimize it to get the best performance for you guys as possible.
But no, the game looks great and I believe it will be awesome.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will launch on May 19, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
