Evolve DLC Controversy is “a Good Thing,” Says Take-Two CEO, Company’s Q3 Financial Report Released

If you have been following Evolve, then you probably know about the many concerns over the upcoming game’s Season Pass and DLC packs. However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently mentioned that he thinks all of this controversy is “a good thing,” and then tried to defend the DLC business model.

There was some controversy stirred up by an online post. And I guess, you know, controversy, generally speaking, is a good thing.

People can argue about the business model. I think we’re delivering a fantastic title that’s well worth what consumers will pay for it and all signs are extraordinarily positive.

While the controversy certainly has gotten people talking, it seems a little bit early to tell if it was truly “a good thing” or not. We will just have to see how many people actually purchase either Evolve or its numerous DLC packs.

Bot on the topic of purchases and finances, Take-Two recently discussed its Q3 2015 financial results. The company announced that its GAAP net revenue totalled $531.1 million, while its GAAP net income was $40.1 million. Compared to the same time last year, these numbers are actually strikingly small. Take-Two mentioned that this is because Grand Theft Auto V came out Q3 2014, resulting in a huge net revenue and income.

What do you think of Zelnick’s comments on Evolve? How about Take-Two’s financial report? Let us know in the comments.
