Ever since the US policy change that happened in 2013/2014 opened up a number of combat-intense military positions to women, it would only make sense to have more combat ready women in military movies, video games, and books. So with that, it might not come as a huge surprise that Michael Condrey, the COO over at Sledgehammer Games, recently said in an interview with HipHopGamer that a future Call of Duty game will likely feature a female lead.
During the interview, Condry was asked if a female lead would ever enter the Call of Duty franchise, at which he replied with an “absolutely.”
Absolutely. After speaking with military advisors, strong female characters, strong female military presences are gonna be in the future, and we’re seeing it today. So, absolutely you would expect to see that one day in Call of Duty.
What do you think about the possibility of a future CoD title having a female lead? Is that something you would like to see?
