While Battlefield Hardline may be out in a month, Battlefield 4 is still getting quite a bit of attention, with DICE LA doing something they’ve never done before: working with the community to create a new map for the game.
Releasing in 2015 on all platforms, the development team will work together with the community, shaping the map based on feedback. Then, it will be tested and tweaked in the Community Test Environment (CTE), available to Premium Members. More details about the Community Map Project, including behind-the-scenes details of the creation process, are set to arrive soon.
Also for Battlefield 4, DICE is releasing a “Winter Patch” next month, which will help polish netcode and soldier collision, while also tweaking Squad Obliteration:
Fast-paced and hugely focused on team work, this will become the lead competitive game mode for Battlefield 4.
In case you haven’t had the chance to try it yourself yet, Squad Obliteration features two five-player teams fighting for possession of a bomb on the map. Your goal is to destroy two out of three enemy bases with these bombs to win. Our ambition with Squad Obliteration is to create something fast and challenging for the players and an entertaining experience for those who watch the matches.
Are you excited for what’s next in Battlefield 4?
