Todd McFarlane, the creator of the graphic novel character Spawn, recently revealed that the Mortal Kombat X developers could include Spawn as a playable character if they so choose.
Speaking with GamerFitNation, McFarlane mentioned that NetherRealm Studios actually has a “short deal” that would allow the company to include Spawn in the upcoming fighting game. The decision to put the character into the title, he noted, is entirely up to the developers, who may or may not choose to actually include him.
That means that they have access to be able to use the character in a couple of their games, if they want to,” McFarlane said. “Again, it’s up to their discretion. I gave them a window of time, so I’ll just leave it to them to do what it is that they want. Eventually, they’ll phone me and they’ll go, ‘Hey, we want to use him here. Is that OK?’ Well, technically, it’s OK because we’ve already said yes. They just are letting us know.
Whether or not Spawn will make it into the game remains to be seen, adding him to the ever growing list of possible DLC characters that could grace Mortal Kombat X. Would you want to see Spawn in the upcoming title?
