Nepro Japan Acquires Tri-Ace, Plans to Have Company Focus on Mobile Games

Well, it looks like tri-Ace, the developers of popular title Star Ocean, might not be focusing on making console games anymore.

According to a recent announcement by Nepro Japan, the mobile gaming company has just acquired tri-Ace after buying out all of the company’s shares. Nepro apparently plans to use tri-Ace’s experience in creating console RPG’s to make better mobile RPG’s, which have done well in Japan.

No word has been announced as to whether or not tri-Ace will give up making console games, but it seems like most of their attention will be focused on smartphones and tablets. What do you think of the recent acquisition? Are you a fan of any tri-Ace games?
