Amplitude Receives a Gameplay Trailer, Team Multiplayer Detailed

Recently delayed until Summer 2015 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Amplitude from developer Harmonix was given a new trailer today, while Art Director Ryan Lesser discussed the multiplayer.

Having put more of a focus on the multiplayer over the last few months, Lesser asked the team, “What can we do to even the playing field when pro players sit on the couch to play against new players?” Out of this, Team Play was born:

Team Play is something we’d never done in Amplitude before, and allowing players to team up 2v2 or even 3v1 sounded like an amazing way to even the playing field without disrupting the current design. We decided to give it a shot, and after some iteration and tweaking, we are proud to say that it’s already super fun.

All in all, Harmonix wants to “create a game that can be super fun in a party situation, while also being tight and sharp in a way that could potentially even appeal to the competitive gaming community.”

Not interested in Team Play? The Free-For-All multiplayer mode will also be included with Amplitude.

If you’re going, Team Play will be featured at PAX East this week.

What do you think of the gameplay?
