Visceral Games Wants to Continue Working on Battlefield If Hardline Proves to Be Successful, Beta Changes Listed

While the Battlefield franchise is synonymous with Sweden-based studio, DICE, it looks like Dead Space developer Visceral Games is looking to throw its hat into the ring in making more entries in the series — provided its upcoming version, Battlefield Hardline,I don’t know if we would ever formalise it, to be successful.

In an interview with Videogamer, Creative Director Ian Milham reveals that there’s more “gold in those hills” when it comes to thematic possibilities.

There’s a lot more gold in those hills in terms of the thematic possibilities and all the stuff we could do…and just now having seen what people are responding to and what we’ve made and what its strengths are, I think any developer would usually love a chance to double down on something successful and take the best bits and add more good on that and create something more. So yeah, I think we would [like to do more].

And before anyone thinks it, Visceral won’t be alternating annually with DICE for yearly Battlefield games, either.

I don’t know if we would ever formalise it…And there was no formal, ‘Okay, now you guys are going to trade off every other year making Battlefield games with DICE.’ I don’t know what the future holds. This was sort of a thing that seemed a cool possibility for us to do and yeah, we’d like to make more if it works out.
