Post-Launch Battlefield Hardline DLC Isn’t “Built Yet,” Says Lead Multiplayer Designer

While Battlefield Hardline may not be available until next week on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, EA and Visceral Games have already revealed all the post-launch expansion packs, which are set for release between Summer 2015 and Early 2016.

Shooting down the notion that Visceral held back content from the launch of Hardline to later sell it as DLC, Lead Multiplayer Designer Thad Sasser told GameSpot:

I’ve seen that comment as well. My response to that is I don’t know how it could be included in the full game because it’s not built yet. So that would be a real magic trick for us to include something that we haven’t built yet.

Sasser continued by saying they’ve thought about the post-launch DLC and they’re working on some things right now, “but there’s nothing that we could actually ship today that would be part of the game. So I don’t even see how that conversation even realistically happens.”
