God of War 3 Remastered Coming to PS4 in 1080p, Release Date & Trailer Revealed

With today marking the 10th anniversary of the God of War franchise, it appeared as though the only celebration would be a speed run of the first three games.

Thankfully, there is a new announcement today, as Sony has confirmed that God of War 3 Remastered is coming to the PlayStation 4 in 1080p, with a target of 60fps. In the accompanying press release, Sony dates the game for July 14 in North America and July 15 in Europe. During the livestream today, it was revealed the game will cost $39.99 in the United States and $49.99 in Canada.

The game also includes all previous DLC costumes and content, Photo Mode, groundbreaking depth of scale, realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore.

Developed by Sony Santa Monica, here’s the description for God of War 3 Remastered:

One of the most critically acclaimed games of the last generation, God of War III, has been remastered for the PlayStation 4 system, marking the debut of Kratos on PS4. God of War III Remastered brings the epic battles and carnage to life with stunning graphics, 1080p gameplay targeting 60FPS, and an elaborate plot that once again sees Kratos at the center of destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him.

They also talk about the story:

The story of God of War III is the epic conclusion to Kratos’ Greek trilogy. Picking up from the Titan sized cliffhanger of God of War II, God of War III takes Kratos right to the heart of Zeus’ stronghold on his epic quest for vengeance.
