Going by Final Fantasy Type-0 HD’s epilogue cinematic, we reported last week that Final Fantasy Type-1 might be in development. Yesterday, game director Hajime Tabata revealed “Type-Next” during a Hong Kong launch event.
Apparently, work on the sequel started when Type-0‘s development ended, but since Tabata is now in charge of Final Fantasy XV, Type-Next has been put on hold.
Although there’s no other information to share at the moment, Tabata revealed what looks like the game’s concept art. Flip through the gallery below to see the images, but do note that some of them may have been created specifically for the event. It’s also worth noting that Type-Next might be a working title for the game.
