After removing the “A Hideo Kojima game” tagline and Kojima Productions logo from Metal Gear games on the series’ website, the Kojima Productions logo has now been removed from the Silent Hills website.
In a statement given following this discovery by GameSpot, Konami said:
Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn’t be listed as a studio anymore. At this time, there are no additional updates to share.
Asked specifically about Hideo Kojima’s current status with Silent Hills, Konami added that they “have no new announcements regarding P.T./Silent Hill at this time.”
As for another Hideo Kojima series, Videogamer discovered that his name has been removed from the Zone of the Enders HD Collection website.
Where the description previously read that it “marks the return of two fan favorite PS2 games from Hideo Kojima,” and “the games feature the engrossing storytelling of Hideo Kojima paired with thrilling robot fights in a futuristic interplanetary setting,” it now says:
The Zone of the Enders HD Collection marks the return of two fan favorite PS2 games, Zone of the Enders and its sequel Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. Arriving on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in a fully remastered, high definition format, the games feature the engrossing storytelling, paired with thrilling robot fights in a futuristic interplanetary setting. Players control fast and powerful mechs (robots) known as Orbital Frames to blast their enemies into oblivion.
Konami has yet to respond to this change, but it’s likely they’d issue the same statement as above.
