NBA 2K14 Servers Back Online, 2K Changes Online Policy for NBA Games Going Forward

When 2K announced that the NBA 2K14 servers were shutting down on March 31, 2015, they assured owners, “Online files will not disappear, but rather they will turn to offline saves and earn skill points as opposed to VC.” Well, as was discovered after the server shut off, MyCareer save files on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One disappeared anyways.

In a note posted on their website this week as a result of all the fan feedback, 2K confirmed online support for NBA 2K14 is restored, with all NBA 2K games servers now running for 27 months after launch:

2K has restored the NBA 2K14 servers and all online services. Beginning today, we are extending the support of all NBA 2K servers from 18 to 27 months following each release, giving our players more time to experience and enjoy the highest rated NBA simulation video game franchise. The opinions of our community continue to have a positive impact on our business decisions as we strive to create the best possible experience for all of our fans.

Sony did something similar recently, extending the servers for MLB 14 The Show from June 18 to an unspecified date.
