Developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco have confirmed that a Dark Souls II weapon durability glitch, which has been affecting current-gen consoles and PC versions of the game, will be fixed soon. At the moment, the speed at which weapons degrade is tied to the frame rate so weapons break faster.
The problem plagued the PC version of the game last year, and currently affects every version of Scholar of the First Sin. Bandai Namco said in a statement to Kotaku:
The fix will be issued for PS4, Steam and Xbox One, and will be apparent for people running the game at 60fps as the durability decrease rate is linked to the frame rate. We are still working on the exact release date for the patch, which will also fix additional issues not just durability, and will follow up with the date as soon as possible.
From Software also reached out and said:
Fixed issue whereby weapon durability was decreased drastically when used on enemy corpses, friendly characters, etc.
We’ll update our readers when more information becomes available.
