Sony Easily Moves Past Microsoft in Revenue Ranking

An updated chart number the world’s biggest game companies based on their revenues has just been put out by Newzoo, and it looks like Sony is growing faster than Microsoft.

On the chart, Sony comes in at number two, with Tencent staying strong at number one with a whopping $7.2 billion in sales and featuring a 32 percent annual growth. Though it is far behind Tencent, Sony has experienced a 27 percent annual growth, moving from $4.7 billion to $6 billion. That’s a pretty big leap from 2013.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has apparently only experienced a 3 percent growth, but comes in at number three on the chart with $5 billion. Why do you think Microsoft has not been growing nearly as quickly as Sony? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
