Overlord Writer Rhianna Pratchett Addresses Criticisms About Fellowship of Evil

Codemasters’ recently announced title, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, is already getting panned by commenters on social media due to its departure from the Overlord series. Many are concerned about the direction the developer is taking, and the reveal trailer has three times as many dislikes than likes on YouTube. Yikes!

Overlord writer Rhianna Pratchett is disappointed by this response, and took to Twitter to say that Fellowship of Evil is its own entity, and is not meant to be Overlord 3, although she hopes Overlord 3 actually happens.

Shame folks are getting angry on YouTube about Overlord: Fellowship of Evil. We never claimed it was Overlord 3. It’s its own entity & certainly doesn’t stop a Overlord 3 happening.

I do hope that there’s a full Overlord III one day, but for now I am really happy to be working on something Overlordy again. I tend to think of it like Guardian of Light/Temple of Osiris is to Tomb Raider.

They’ll be more on this soon. But tone-wise Fellowship of Evil is very much an Overlord game. Fits in with the established world and canon. So we have done a few different things with the Overlord franchise in the past and explored different gameplay avenues.

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015 as a $19.99 digital title.

What do our readers think of it so far?
