While Square Enix may be holding an E3 2015 press conference, don’t expect much, if any, of the “exciting news” to revolve around Final Fantasy XV.
As Director Hajime Tabata revealed on the recent livestream, with the Episode Duscae demo completed, “we would like to begin releasing pertinent information about Final Fantasy XV to all regions where the game will be released.”
Since they’re just preparing to release that information, E3 “doesn’t give us sufficient time to fully prepare.” Instead, they’ve been talking about doing their “next major reveal” at gamescom in August, with promotion for the main title officially beginning at gamescom as well.
Although Tabata says they’ll be “taking a break” from E3 this year, there is a chance a short trailer may appear at the event, but it will serve as a segue into what they’re preparing for gamescom.
Following these events, expect to see Final Fantasy XV at PAX Prime at the end of August and Tokyo Game Show in mid-September.
Meanwhile, Square Enix is planning to do the next Active Time Report in late May, which should focus a bit more on demo feedback.
