Destiny’s Crucible Overhaul Incoming, “The Dark Below” Maps to Be Free Next Month

Love Destiny‘s Crucible but don’t love paying for DLC content? Then you’re in luck, because Bungie has just confirmed that the DLC Crucible maps from The Dark Below expansion will be free for everyone soon.

Speaking to IGN, Bungie explained that when the next Destiny expansion — House of Wolves –– launches on May 19, the maps from the first expansion will become free for everyone. Those maps are The Cauldron, Skyshock and Pantheon. Of course, the House of Wolves expansion will also bring a few new Crucible maps for players who have bought the expansion, so there’s something to look forward to for everyone.

Bungie has also confirmed that the Crucible is getting an overhaul soon, too. Apparently, the amount of experience points marks received after each match has been doubled, meaning that players will receive six marks after winning a match instead of three. On top of that, a lot more loot will be dropping, including new Legendary items. And if that wasn’t enough, Bungie has said that players who place first are more likely to get better loot drops at the end of each match, essentially rewarding players for actually playing well.

What do you think of all the new changes coming to Destiny‘s Crucible? Are you excited for the three DLC maps to become free next month?
