DICE Able to “Get the Maximum Out of the Hardware” for PS4 Version of Star Wars: Battlefront

In a recent PlayStation Blogcast, Star Wars: Battlefront Senior Producer Sigurlína Ingvarsdóttir talked about the amazing trailer for the upcoming shooter that apparently features “in-engine” footage. While we here at PSLS had a bit of discussion as to whether or not the actual gameplay will look that good on the PS4, Ingvarsdóttir said that the graphics will look that good on the PS4 thanks to better connections with Sony engineers.

This is DICE’s second game out on the next gen consoles and out on PS4. We learned a lot on the previous title, BF4, and now we’re at the place that we feel like we’re getting more familiar with the hardware. We’re getting better results, we’re having a good collaborations with the engineers at Sony.

I’d say we’re really being able to, as I think our gameplay video shows… We’re really able to get the maximum out of the hardware, and really able to sort of harness that power.

Ingvarsdóttir also mentioned that a skilled DICE artists and the powerful FrostBite Engine also contribute to the game looking so visually impressive. Do you think the trailer is representative of what Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay will look like on the PS4?
