Resident Evil Revelations 2 Made “a Strong Start to Be a Million Seller,” Capcom Full-Year Revenue Down

In their official financial review, Capcom revealed that its full-year revenue was down by 37.1 percent compared to the previous year, but it had a large increase in profit thanks to digital titles like its episodic horror game Resident Evil Revelations 2.

Capcom’s revenue for its last fiscal year, which ended on March 31, 2015, was the lowest it had ever been since 2004. The company reported that it only brought in around ¥64.3 billion ($538.4 million), which is a 37.1 percent drop from the previous fiscal year.

At the same time, Capcom mentioned that thanks to digital sales of Dead Rising 3, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and Resident Evil Revelations 2, it experienced a 92.1 percent increase in net profit. Capcom also told investors that Resident Evil Revelations 2 made “a strong start to be a million seller,” although whether or not it will actually sell a million copies remains to be seen.
