With just over a week to go until The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on May 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, CD Projekt Red has announced that worldwide pre-orders have exceeded 1 million.
Studio Co-Founder Marcin Iwiński talked about the big numbers:
We’ve crossed the 1 million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support. This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard – over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine.
As for those 16 free pieces of DLC coming post-launch, CD Projekt Red said, “The DLCs will be released in pairs on a weekly basis, starting from May 20.”
If you missed the news over the weekend, early copies of The Witcher 3 have made their way out to consumers, with Twitch banning people who stream it before May 19.
