Unlike some of the past Assassin’s Creed titles, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not feature a companion app.
Ubisoft gave a comment to Eurogamer that officially confirms the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game will not have a companion app, and the publisher mentioned that part of the reason is because “the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.”
There will not be a companion app. For Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.
In Assassin’s Creed Unity, the companion app was necessary to unlock certain chests and get certain collectibles. It also generated in-game money. In Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, the app only allowed users to earn resources and money, and was not needed to gain access to the entirety of the game.
Ubisoft also recently confirmed that the upcoming game will not have multiplayer modes, either. Do you think Ubisoft made a good move by getting rid of the companion app model for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate?
