FIFA 16 Vita and 3DS Versions Not in the Works, Says EA

If you were hoping to play the next FIFA game on your PlayStation Vita, then don’t hold out any hope. EA has confirmed that there are no Vita or 3DS versions in the works. Speaking to PocketGamer, a company representative said:

With regards to FIFA 16 there isn’t a Vita or 3DS version. We don’t have any further detail on the mobile version but will be sure to share with you when we hear more.

This statement won’t come as a surprise to those who remember COO Peter Moore’s remarks regarding the handhelds last year. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz last June, Moore said that while the company is supportive of both platforms, it has to plan according to the resources available. He also posed the question of whether the Vita and 3DS will be around come FY17/18.

FIFA 16 releases this September for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will include 12 Women’s National Teams for the first time in the franchise’s history.

We’ll update our readers when more details become available.
