Japan’s PlayStation (PS3, PS4, PS Vita) Game Releases – June 2015

Here are the games that are scheduled to ship to Japanese retailers in the month of June for PlayStation Vita, PS3, and PS4.

On June 4:

PlayStation 3 and 4 get budget-line versions of FIFA 15 as well as a new game, the titillating Natsuiro High School. Vita meanwhile gets its first taste of the brutally punishing Shiren the Wanderer series with the DS-gone-Vita port of Shiren the Wanderer 5.

On June 11:

Japan can finally play Alien Isolation on PS4, while Vita gets The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC Evolution in regular and collector’s edition forms. The game alone is 5,800円, while the special edition is 8,800円.

That’s pretty much it for this day. You can expect low numbers when Jason does up the sales report that includes data from this week. I can already feel the ouch.

On June 18:

Another traditionally slow week, most publishers avoid it entirely.

Capcom will send Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition to market for PS4 while Quinrose will send the above-pictured love adventure Mahotsukai to Goshujin (The Magician/Witch/Wizard and the Master or The Witch and the Husband. Without knowing the series, it’s hard to know which way this goes with it. “Goshujin” means both “master” and “husband.” So yeah, hey, you just learned an example of Japan’s very deeply rooted patriarchy.)

On June 23:

A rare non-Thursday release, as Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward gets to the Japanese market on a Tuesday. This way, it keeps in line with the worldwide release date. It’s coming to both PS3 and PS4.

On June 25:

Now we’re talking. Vita gets musical with Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which I’m looking forward to.

There’s also an adventure game called School Wars by the same folks who brought you The Witch Being Subjugated by Her Master or whatever it was called above, and others in its same genre: Harvest OverRay, Vamwolf Cross, and The 5 Princes: Secret Marriage Contract. These appear to be boyfriend dating games. Edit: Check that, not Harvest OverRay. User novurdim informs me that this is actually “a console-port of bishoujo eroge.” Thanks for the tip!

Oh I forgot Grisaia, from which, in the image below, surely you can get a sort of Kiki vibe.

That has to be intentional.

Vita also shares CHAOS;CHILD with PS3 and PS4, and shares Hotline Miami: Collected Edition with PS4. You read that right, Hotline Miami and its sequel are being bundled and given a physical release on PS4 and Vita in Japan.

PS3 and PS4 get RIDE while getting official price drops on Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

I see some great stuff up there, but overall I’m not thinking it’ll be a month to remember in terms of Japanese sales, sadly. Vita might move some units though. But hey, what the heck do I know? Got any predictions? Planning on importing anything? Jealous of dat Hotline Miami double pack? Share a comment or 10 below.
