Indie Games E3 2015 - Top 10 to Look Out For at the Show

While it may seem like AAA retail games have been sparse so far this generation, PlayStation 4 owners have still had plenty of great games to play. A large part of the constant output of games has been thanks to Sony’s courting of indie developers both big and small. Several of the best games on PlayStation 4 have been created by indie developers, and the independent scene looks brighter than ever before.

To celebrate independent spirit, and to talk about some games we really want to play, we here at PlayStation LifeStyle have put together a list of 10 indie games to look forward to at E3 2015. While we can’t guarantee all of these will be in action on the show floor, we’ll hopefully get some more information on each of these 10 titles.

We hope you enjoyed our look at ten indie titles that we can’t wait to hear more about at E3 2015. There are still dozens of promising looking indie games that didn’t make our list, but will hopefully catch our eye at E3.

10 Indie Games to Look for at E3 2015
Gunsport

Necrosoft Games' Gunsport combines a cyberpunk aesthetic with intense gameplay akin to volleyball with guns. It is one of the most promising local multiplayer games in the works and we can't wait to see more of it.
Volume

Indie developer Mike Bithell rose to prominence with his charming 2D platformer Thomas Was Alone. Now the talented Briton is working on the stealth title Volume, which is confirmed to receive a release date at E3. We can't wait to play this Metal Gear influenced game on PS4 and Vita!
Gang Beasts

If you have had a chance to play Boneloaf Games' Gang Beasts on PC, then you know how much fun this multiplayer wrestling game can be. Double Fine Productions is helping bring the title to PS4, so hopefully we'll see this alongside Day of the Tentacle Special Edition at E3.
ABZÛ

A lot of hype has been behind developer Giant Squid's first project, ABZÛ. This is largely due to the developer being founded by former thatgamecompany art director Matt Nava, who previously worked on Journey and Flower. It also helps that the game received a gorgeous trailer at E3 last year, sadly it hasn't been seen since. Hopefully, we'll see the promising looking aquatic adventure soon.
SOMA

While Frictional Games' SOMA also features an underwater setting, it is much different than ABZÛ. SOMA is a narrative driven survival horror game that looks to make up for the loss of the now canceled Silent Hills. It is set to launch in September, so E3 might be our last time to see the title before it is in our hands!
N++

The first game in the N series was an addictive flash game. The brutally hard platformer then found its way onto Xbox Live Arcade and handhelds in 2008 as N+. Now, seven years later, the series is back again in the form of N++. Originally announced at Gamescom in 2013, it seems logical to expect that we'll find out when exactly we can get our hands on Metanet Software's platformer soon!
Galak-Z: The Dimensional

As developer 17-BIT's name would imply, this indie developer is all about making new games with a retro flair. In this case, 17-BIT looks to revitalize the space shooter genre with Galak-Z: The Dimensional. Galak-Z looks like one of the most promising PS4 and Vita titles thanks to its roguelike progression system and advanced enemy artificial intelligence.
Samurai Gunn

The PS4 has quickly become the home console for fun local multiplayer experiences. The next game that looks to join the ranks of TowerFall Ascension is Teknopants' Samurai Gunn. Samurai Gunn features both sword and gunplay to create a frantic four player duel to the death. It is coming to both PS4 and Vita, so PlayStation owners of both systems have something to look forward to playing.
The Witness

Jonathan Blow's Braid was one of the most well received games of all time. It has been several years since his next game, PlayStation 4 timed exclusive The Witness, was announced in 2009. In fact, it has been six years and gamers are still eagerly anticipating Tekla Inc.'s first-person puzzle game. Maybe gamers will finally get to see a few of the title's secrets at E3 this year.
No Man's Sky

Obviously No Man's Sky had to be on this list. Hello Games' procedurally generated space exploration game is one of the most anticipated video games period. Indie or not, fans are dying to find out more about this promising title that looks almost too good to be true. It seems ripe for a large reveal and could be a centerpiece of Sony's press conference.
