Ever since its reveal, Fallout 4‘s graphics have been a point of discussion around the web, with some stating that the developer could have done better while others believe that there’s more to the game than just that. Speaking to GameSpot, Bethesda’s Pete Hines said that while the developer could make Fallout 4 look better, it chooses not to in order to strike a balance, and that the game particularly focuses on a high level of interactivity.
Everything that we do is a balance. We could make the best looking game possible, but we dial some of that back in order to allow for all of these other things.
Hines went on to say that Fallout games offer a lot of choice and freedom.
If you want to pick flowers and make potions all day, then that’s what you’re role-playing. If you want to go shoot everybody in the head with a laser-musket, then that’s what you’re role-playing.
Fallout 4 is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 10.
