In a press release, Sony announced that it will launch a “new” version of the PlayStation 4 later this month in Japan, which will then be followed by North America, EU and Asian countries and regions.
While not the slimmer PS4 revision that everyone’s looking forward to, the new models will have a reduced weight of 10 percent compared to the PS4s out in the market, as well as a lower power consumption rate of eight percent. Additionally, the surface of the new PS4’s HDD bay cover will come in a matte finish, which gives the system a more “casual look,” according to Sony.
Color choices will once again be Jet Black and Glacier White, with the full system specs listed below along with the official images.
