Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Won’t Allow Players to Transfer in Cosmetic Items

If you purchased or unlocked a lot of costumes and customization options in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and were hoping to transfer your cosmetic items into its sequel, which was announced at E3 2015, you’re out of luck.

In our E3 video interview with PopCap Creative Director Justin Wiebe, he explained that PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 will have a whole new set of cosmetic items, and will not allow players to transfer their previously purchased or unlocked items. However, characters can be transferred, Wiebe mentioned.

So, while we’re carrying over the characters and the character unlocks, we’re not going to be bringing over customization because we’ve got a whole new batch of customization for players to unlock. We learned a lot from what we did with the old customization, but we figured out where we want to kind of push the boundaries of them — they’re going to be crazier and cooler than people have ever seen.

Are you bummed that cosmetic items won’t transfer over into Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2? Or are you excited for the “crazier and cooler” customizations? Check out our preview of the upcoming game here.
