In an interview with Sony’s Gio Corsi, SEGA General Director Toshihiro Nagoshi and Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama talked about the upcoming PlayStation 3 game Yakuza 5, speaking about the characters and the setting.
The interview, which can be seen above, is only the first part of a three-part video interview, with the other parts being released at a later date. In this first five-minute section, Nagoshi and Yokoyama explained that Yakuza 5 will take place in five Japanese cities.
They also explained that there will be five playable characters, with the main character being Kazuma Kiryu. Yakuza 5 will also feature a female protagonist (Haruka Sawamura), which is a first for the series. Her plotline will take “center stage,” but each of the five plotlines has to do with people following their dreams.
Currently, there is not release date set for the Western release of Yakuza 5, but it is expected to be out sometime later this year.
