Now Loading…Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 Confirmed, What Do You Think of Obvious Timed Exclusives?

What we knew months ago has now officially been confirmed: Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC, though at a later date compared to the Xbox versions.

While the PlayStation LifeStyle crew already talked about Rise of the Tomb Raider’s “exclusivity” status months ago, this time, we talk about the game being confirmed for the PS4, and more importantly, about obvious timed exclusivity deals like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Titanfall. Staff members weigh in on this little marketing deal and what we make of it, which you can read about in the gallery below.

This obvious timed exclusivity thing leads me to another question: should we cover news for games that are obviously timed exclusives? The staff talked about it a fair bit when it came to Rise of the Tomb Raider. Ultimately, we all decided that we’d hold off on publishing any news for it since it wasn’t officially confirmed for PlayStation platforms. However, we now have to play catch up of sorts when it comes to the game’s news and all that, and it seems the readers are the ones suffering.

What do you make of all this timed exclusivity thing? Should we cover games that are obvious timed exclusives or just wait until they’re officially announced and confirmed (like Rise of Tomb Raider PS4) before reporting on it? Sound off and let us know below.

Now Loading is a recurring staff-driven feature where PlayStation LifeStyle discusses anything video game-related under the sun (yes, even non-Sony platforms).
