Grow Home Is Coming to PS4 on September 1

Announced earlier today as part of the PlayStation Plus Vote to Play, Ubisoft officially confirmed that Grow Home is releasing on September 1 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4.

Beginning its life as an experimental tech demo exploring procedural animation, Grow Home “just had too much spirit to leave it be,” so the team of eight people at Ubisoft Reflections turned it into a full-fledged game that released on PC this past February.

Here’s the description:

You play BUD (Botanical. Utility. Droid), a robot on a mission to find the Star Plant and save his planet. Discover a strange open-world: a planet of floating islands, with precipitous drops, caves and waterfalls to navigate, all rendered in a minimalist but beautiful art style. Grow the giant Star Plant and use your unique climbing abilities to reach ever higher ground, but be careful as you ascend because one wrong move and it’s a long way down!

If Grow Home doesn’t end up winning the Vote to Play, PlayStation Plus members will still be available to get it at launch for a discount. A price wasn’t announced, but Grow Home currently retails for $7.99 on PC.
