Upcoming Attack on Titan Game Will Start From Beginning of Original Story

A recent interview Dengeki Online did with Koei Tecmo Managing Director Hisashi Koinuma revealed  a number of details about the upcoming PlayStation 4, PS3, and PS Vita Attack on Titan game, including that it will begin from the original story and that the PS4 version is being given priority.

Koei Tecmo is planning on allowing Attack on Titan players to actually understand the story by playing the game, instead of them having them watch the anime or read the manga series. To do that, the game will begin at the beginning of the original story created by Hajime Isayama, and will follow it. There’s no word yet on whether or not players will take on the role of Eren Yaeger, but hopefully that information will surface soon.

It was also revealed that the PS4 is the leading platform for Attack on Titan. Prior to this, Koei Tecmo would develop games for the PS3, and then enhance some aspects of said games to make them acceptable on the PS4. By giving the PS4 version priority, this could mean that Attack on Titan will both look and play better on PS4 than previous Koei Tecmo games have done.

Attack on Titan is supposed to be out sometime next year, although a Japanese version may come at the end of the year.
