Showcased in the video above is NHL 16‘s Be a Pro mode, the all-new progression system that will influence the type of player we will become in the game.
Players’ on-ice actions will determine what attributes they earn and what type of player they’ll grow into. Be a Pro mode comes with off-ice training that will require players to manage their limited weekly workout time effectively in order to build their characters’ skills. The mode also comes with visual on-ice training, which is an adaptive training tool designed to help players of all skill levels. EA’s description of the mode states:
If you want to become a bruising power forward like Milan Lucic, focus on finishing your checks and getting into the occasional scrap. If you want to develop into a skill player like Claude Giroux or Tyler Seguin, then focus on finesse and stick handling to evolve in those areas.

NHL 16 releases on September 15 in North America and September 17 in Europe for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last-gen consoles will receive the NHL Legacy Edition on the same day.
