SEGA Currently Has No Plans to Release Phantasy Star Online 2 PS4 Outside of Japan

Last week, we reported that SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online 2 will be heading to the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016. Following the announcement, many wondered if the game will see the light of the day outside of Japan. Unfortunately, however, a SEGA representative has told Kotaku that the company currently has no plans to bring the PS4 game to the West.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is already available for the PS Vita and PC in Japan. While SEGA’s statement doesn’t imply that the game will never come to the West, we don’t recommend holding your breath.

We’ll update our readers when more details become available.
