Ahead of its official release on September 1 in North America and Europe, early copies of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have made their way into the hands of gamers, apparently due to retailers breaking street dates.
In a series of tweets, Konami confirmed they are actively shutting down streams and looking to erase the release of any new content to help avoid spoilers:
If you see anyone streaming TPP & ruining the game/spoilers for others, please feel free to flag their content @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN @Ken1555

Thanks @TheExcel We are doing our best, we would still go dark if you do not want to be spoiled. Intro sequence alone is worth waiting for.

As well, Producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi responded to the leaks:
If you have one, we just want you to stay quiet until Sep. 1st. https://t.co/IyZASGcFRJ

Will you be avoiding the internet until The Phantom Pain launches on September 1 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC?
