Star Wars Battlefront Using Skill Based Matchmaking System Instead of Server Browser

Unlike DICE’s Battlefield games, Star Wars Battlefront won’t feature a server browser on any platform, as EA Community Manager Sledgehammer70 explained on Reddit:

Star Wars Battlefront will not offer a server browser, but will utilize a new skill based matchmaking system.

There will be a way to play with friends though, as Sledgehammer70 said, “Of course. Platform party systems are supported.”

Elsewhere on Reddit, Sledgehammer70 confirmed that the early October beta for Battlefront on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC won’t require a pre-order. Instead, everyone interested will need to sign up on the official Star Wars website once registration goes live in the near future.

Asked if it’s an open beta, Sledgehammer70 said, “Everyone who signs up will be able to participate. When registration opens obviously.” They then replied to someone who asked if there was a limit: “The limit is the amount of people willing to sign-up.”

Star Wars Battlefront releases on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, along with some PS4 bundles.
