Atlus has updated the Persona 5 website with details on the game’s four main characters who all form the “Phantom Thieves” group. A translation (courtesy of Gematsu) is as follows:
Protagonist (voiced by Jun Fukuyama)
16-year old leader of Phantom Thieves. He’s a quiet and well-mannered second-year high school student who transfers to Shujin High. As a Phantom Thief, he gives a completely different impression. He lives at Shiken Cafe run by his parents’ friend, and the reasons for his transfer to Shujin are not known at present.
Ryuji Sakamoto (voiced by Mamoru Miyano)
16-year old second-year student at Shujin High School. He’s a bit of a “problem child” who behaves wildly even at school. He wasn’t always like that, however, but no one knows the reasons behind the change in his behavior.
An Takamaki (voiced by Nana Mizuki)
16-year old “quarter-American” girl at Shujin High. She isolates herself in school and is unable to fit into the crowd due to her appearance. She hangs out with the protagonist and Ryuji Sakamoto, and has strange rumors circulating about her in school. Whether those rumors are true or not remains to be seen.
Morgana (voiced by Ikue Otani)
She’s the most “mysterious” member of Phantom Thieves with a “childlike” height. Her appearance is like a black cat’s and her real identity remains unknown.
Atlus also unveiled a footage of Persona 5‘s opening cinematic and theme song at Tokyo Game Show 2015, which you can check out above (courtesy of YouTube user South Pathnet).
Following news of a delay, Atlus announced that Persona 5 will release in Japan and Americas in 2016.
