Experience Horror Through a Child’s Eyes in Among the Sleep, Coming to PS4 This December

A psychological horror game where you play as a two year old child, Among the Sleep from developer Krillbite Studio is coming to PlayStation 4 on December 10 in North America and Europe.

“You get to experience the world through the eyes of a toddler with a vivid imagination that could easily scare your pants off,” Krillbite’s Kristina Halvorsen explained. “We wanted to create an atmospheric horror game with an eerie feeling of helplessness.”

Originally appearing on PC, the PS4 version of Among the Sleep has taken so long to develop because it required a conversion of their game engine, Unity. Since they wanted it to look the best and work perfectly with PS4, Krillbite had to redo the lightmapped levels and “we had to rebake everything, which is fancy developer speak for fixing lights and putting it all together.”

With the PS4 version of Among the Sleep, you’ll see a full audio-visual upgrade, resulting in even better graphics and sound. Additionally, it will run at 60 frames-per-second, which Krillbite says was “probably the biggest part of the upgrade and it makes for a super smooth experience and does a lot for immersion!”

Unfortunately, due to a variety of reasons (motion sickness being one of them), Krillbite isn’t adding VR support to Among the Sleep.
