Appearing to move away from Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Helix Credits, which you could spend up to $100 on, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will still include micro-transactions, but they will be more like the cheaper ones seen in Black Flag.
Answering user questions over on IGN, Ubisoft Quebec’s Francois Pelland revealed that the micro-transactions in Syndicate will end up saving you some time:
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will include paid options to save time and accelerate progress. The model for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is quite similar to Black Flag, allowing players who do not have time to fully explore our huge game world to still be able to eventually acquire the game’s most powerful gear as well as other items. Rest assured, all of AC Syndicate’s content is available without paying anything additional and the game has been balanced such that micro-transactions are 100% optional.
Additionally, Ubisoft Quebec revealed that switching between Jacob and Evie in the open world is done “by a simple selection in the pause menu.” Story missions are attached to either Jacob or Evie, so if a character change is necessary, “it will happen seamlessly before the missions starts.”
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate launches on October 23 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
