Developer Psyonix has confirmed that the recently announced Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC for Rocket League will be out on Tuesday, October 13 for both the PlayStation 4 and PC. Additionally, the game will be releasing in Asian territories for the PS4 next week as part of the October 2015 PlayStation Plus lineup. According to the PS Asia Blog, the offer will go live on October 8 and end on November 4.
In other Rocket League news, Psyonix’s VP of marketing and communications, Jeremy Dunham, has told Develop Online that the game hosts over a million unique players on its busiest days. On its slower days, the game attracts between 750,000-800,000 players. Although the game was offered as part of the PlayStation Plus August lineup, Dunham revealed that the ratio of players who paid for the game and those who downloaded it for free is “pretty equal.” He also said that people are playing the game “a little bit more” and spending a higher amount of time with it now as compared to August.
However, Dunham said that the developers are “realists” and realize that this won’t last forever. “The air is going to slowly dwindle out of our sales in terms of being the hot game, but we’re enjoying it while we can,” he remarked.
Rocket League is also set to receive free Oddworld-themed content later this year. For more on that, click here.
