Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass Detailed, Includes Endurance Mode & Much More

Available inside the $89.99 Deluxe Edition (suggesting a standalone price of $29.99), the Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass has been detailed by Microsoft through the Xbox Store.

According to the listing, RotTR’s Season Pass “includes a range of content that will extend your single-player campaign, and also allow you to compete with friends.”

There will be three major releases in all, with other DLC continuing for four months after Xbox launch in November:

Three major releases will challenge you to survive the extreme conditions of Endurance Mode, explore a new tomb that houses an ancient terror in Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, and combat waves of infected predators in Cold Darkness Awakened.

In addition, a steady stream of outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards beginning on Day 1 and continuing over four months will keep you customizing, expanding, and challenging your friends to new adventures.

While we don’t know if the Expedition Cards will cards will cost real world money, the Xbox Store does list five different packs as “coming soon:”

  • Gold Pack – A set of 5 Expedition Cards, guaranteed to contain at least one Rare Card. Cards can be used in all extra gameplay modes.
  • Silver Pack – A set of 5 Expedition Cards, guaranteed to contain at least one Uncommon Card. Cards can be used in all extra gameplay modes.
  • Advantage Pack – A set of 5 Expedition Cards, each of which will give Lara a distinct advantage while playing. Perfect for those looking for a little edge. Cards can be used in all extra gameplay modes.
  • Wild Pack – A set of 5 Expedition Cards, each of which will have a highly unique impact on gameplay. Who knows what creative, crazy, or even Rare Cards are within? Cards can be used in all extra gameplay modes.
  • Challenge Pack – A set of 5 Expedition Cards, each of which inflicts a restriction on Lara or another modifier that makes gameplay more difficult. Overcome challenges to earn bonus credits. Cards can be used in all extra gameplay modes.

Since we’re still over a year away from the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider on PlayStation 4, it remains to be seen if the PlayStation version will also have a Season Pass, or if the content will be included day 1.
