Konami on Metal Gear Online: “We Obviously Don’t Feel Our Work Is Perfect out of the Gate”

After giving out compensation to all Metal Gear Online players due to the issues at launch, Konami used the official Twitter account last week to acknowledge that they don’t feel their work is perfect, but aren’t able to comment on any specific improvements just yet:

Here we are at the weekend, just over 10 days since the launch of MGO for console players.

We’ve been taking in feedback from all kinds of sources, including, and especially so this Twitter account. Thank you for your input. We’ve also been reading extensive feedback on forums and different videos as well.

With the game still young yet, I can’t announce any particular changes/updates at this time. We obviously don’t feel our work is perfect out of the gate and definitely recognize issues players have been having.

Likewise we’re excited to finally have the game out there and are enjoying watching people have fun with it, we’ve been enjoying it as well! Moreso we really appreciate the dedication so many fans have put into tournaments and twitch streams.

Thanks again for your continued support and passion, of that we’ve seen in fultonloads. Enjoy the weekend and Metal Gear Online.

If you’re looking to purchase some DLC items for MGO (such as swimsuits and cat headgear), Konami said, “We aren’t publishing a schedule of these items, but they will be available individually in time.”

As a reminder, Metal Gear Solid V servers will undergo maintenance every Tuesday from 07:00 – 10:00 (GMT).

In our thoughts on Metal Gear Online, we said, “This is the most disappointing online portion of a game I have tried to play, personally.”

What do you think of MGO so far?
