Opaque Media Group and NASA are teaming up for a VR exploration game, Earthlight, that allows players to experience what its like to be an astronaut on the International Space Station. According to the developer, players will be able to immerse themselves in the game and experience the “wonders and perils of space exploration.” Project Lead Norman Wang told IGN:
To make sure that we create an authentic experience, we will be developing Earthlight in collaboration with NASA, with astronauts, and with the people who train and support them.
Players will be able to experience microgravity, for instance, and how it impacts various tasks.
Created in Unreal Engine 4, Earthlight will be available in 2016 for PlayStation VR, SteamVR and Oculus Rift.
