Nissan has unveiled Project Controller, which is exactly what it sounds like…except the controller is a Nissan Qashqai that will connect with a PlayStation to play Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. Over on its website, the company wrote:
As you read this, our team of car engineers, gamers and UX designers are exploring the different possibilities for connecting the Nissan driving interface to a Sony Playstation to create a new way to control Pro Evolution Soccer 2016.
Nissan calls Project Controller an “interactive expedition” to turn the Qashqai into a PES controller and “drive football.” The company has laid out the entire schedule for the project on its website, revealing the next milestone as “PlayStation controller hack.” A press release said:
Nissan is the official global automotive sponsor of the UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Champions League, with a deal covering the periods from 2014/2015 to 2017/2018. With the Nissan Controller, fans will be once again at the heart of Nissan’s partnership. The Controller looks to engineer unexpected moments of fan excitement to enhance their experience of Europe’s most prestigious football competition. It plays on the excitement fuelling the automotive and football worlds to create an innovative experience.
