Battleborn Release Date Delayed to May 3, 2016

Update:

2K issued a statement about the delay:

Battleborn is now launching May 3, 2016. We at Gearbox are feeling energized by the data of our Closed Technical Test, and the additional time will allow us to better act on the feedback for Battleborn competitive and cooperative play when it releases. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work tirelessly on Battleborn. We look forward to sharing the Open Beta with everyone next year.

Original Story:

With Take-Two’s latest financial report now available, the company announced that the release date of Battleborn on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC has been delayed from February 9, 2016 to May 3, 2016.

No reason was given for the delay by Take-Two or Gearbox, but it comes just days after the closed technical test began.

It was also announced at Paris Games Week that the first open beta would be available first on PS4 in 2016.

Elsewhere in the report, Take-Two revealed that Mafia 3 is still set for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in calendar 2016, and that it will still launch after March 31, 2016:

Announced that Mafia III, the next installment in 2K’s successful organized crime series, is currently in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC at Hangar 13, 2K’s new development studio. Mafia III is planned for release during calendar 2016 (fiscal year 2017).

Battleborn’s delay comes days after EA announced that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst was also moving from February to May.

What do you think of the delay?
