Putting a bow on its second quarter of the business year, Take-Two has announced its financial earnings report for the period ending September 30, 2015.
Recounting the marked sales success of NBA 2K16 — 4 million units sold through in its first week alone — the publisher also touched base on its upcoming slate which is, according to President Karl Slatoff, filled with “numerous” unannounced projects.
Our worldwide development teams are working on numerous unannounced projects, including new intellectual properties, and offerings from our established franchises.
Further in the report, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick echoed this sentiment, all the while confirming that one of the unannounced projects is due for release in 2016, though he stopped short of revealing whether said title is a new IP or a sequel to an existing property.
As for the “better-than-expected” earnings growth, Grand Theft Auto Online was partially responsible for the publisher’s boon in profits. Rockstar Games’ multiplayer component now reportedly hosts 8 million active users every week, cementing its place as Take-Two’s “single largest contributor to recurrent consumer spending.”
