Singer Claims EA Offered Him Money to Promote Star Wars Battlefront, Labels Shooter “A Piece of Sh**”

Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley has some choice words regarding EA’s marketing campaign for Star Wars Battlefront, labelling DICE’s recently-released shooter as “a piece of sh*t.”

Taking to Instagram, the singer published a scathing statement targeted at the publisher, which included a shattered copy of the Xbox One version of Battlefront to boot. In fact, Burnley even went so far as to say that he’d rather watch the prequels.

As eagle-eyed NeoGAF users have spotted, though, the Breaking Benjamin Twitter account released a message on the day of Battlefront‘s release (November 17) championing the game’s arrival. Tailored in a similar manner to Anna Kendrick’s ad campaign, the Tweet included the ‘#ad’ disclaimer.

At the time of going to press, EA is yet to release an official statement in response to Burnley’s scathing claims. One way or the other, this isn’t the first time that the publisher has found itself in hot water over promoting Star Wars Battlefront
