Psyonix has some big plans for Rocket League this holiday, which begins with the release of the Chaos Run DLC on December 1 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
Then, starting on Monday, December 14, the hockey-inspired Mutator Mode, Snow Day, will replace the Mutator Mashup online playlist. For Snow Day, the field is iced-over and the ball is replaced with a heavy, disc-shaped hockey puck.
As well, from December 14 – January 4, you’ll have the chance to unlock these seven new (and free) holiday-themed Garage items as part of the Winter Games seasonal item collection:
- “Xmas” Rocket Trail
- “Blitzen” Topper
- “Christmas Tree” Topper
- “Sad Sapling” Topper
- “Santa” Topper
- “Candy Cane” Antenna
- “Holiday Gift” Antenna
Psyonix talked about how you’ll unlock these new items:
Just like those found in the seasonal Halloween update, these Winter Games post-match drops are limited-time goodies… Though the chances of getting Winter Games items are lower than that of a standard drop, players have a chance to find one following the completion of any match, win or lose, and will permanently keep the item once found. Fail to collect all holiday items before Monday, January 4, however, and you’ll have to wait until next year to find them again.
So far, Rocket League has seen more than eight million players worldwide.
