During the latest episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony announced that PaRappa the Rapper 2 will be the next PlayStation 2 game released on PlayStation 4, complete with Trophies and up-rendered in 1080p. You’ll be able to get it on December 15, but no price was given.
Also on the Blogcast, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 on PlayStation 3 was confirmed for a December 15 release through both retail and digital stores. Activision previously delayed the game to focus on fixing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
Both games are only confirmed for December 15 in North America so far.
The release date for PaRappa the Rapper 2 was first hinted at PlayStation Experience by Wario64, who also overheard that “PSP emulation may be in the works of some sort? Not much for PSone.” Wario64 then went on to say the first wave of PS2 games on PS4 were the first licenses Sony could get their hands on, and the library is expected to grow in the coming months.
Other PS2 games officially coming to PS4 in the future include The King of Fighters 2000, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, and Fantavision.
