Just a few days ago, football fans got a tad excited when the official Facebook page of EA’s NCAA Football franchise updated for the first time in one and a half years just in time for the National Championship match between Clemson and Alabama.

Naturally, some thought that this meant that the sports sim franchise might be making a comeback. But before anyone gets too excited, it's all for naught, as EA has confirmed that it has no plans or announcements to make regarding the series.
We have no new plans or announcements to make regarding the EA SPORTS NCAA Football series. Today’s National Championship game reminds us more than ever that the hearts in our community still beat for college football
The last NCAA Football game was released in 2014, before EA decided to put the franchise in hibernation following a dispute with NCAA and its student athletes; an issue that was settled in 2014.
College football fans will have to wait if they want their fix. Hey, there's always the actual game, right?
